In our work together you and your artistry are at the center of everything we do together.

Whether we are exploring your unique and fabulous voice through guided exploration, taking actions towards your most fulfilling artistic dreams, singing with the whole self using applied movement and embodiment, or developing healthy vocal technique, your needs, interests and goals are always at the forefront.

You are at the center of the practice, allowing you to be your best coach and cheerleader, gaining agency of your own vocal expression both in and out of the studio.

this class we will be unapologetically focusing on YOU; your voice , your needs, your wants.

You will learn to sing how it feels best for you. You will get to know your most authentic voice. You will sing what you want to sing. You will listen to the songs you want to listen to. And you will get out of your comfort zone in the best way and have loads of FUN!

You'll become a confident singer, connecting deeply to your own unique voice, while getting clearer about the needs, interests and desires of your biggest asset:

Being a part of an artist's journey and witnessing their growth is truly an honor. Through our work together, clients are able to unleash their voice and unlock their full potential in amazing ways. Here are some recent and specific examples of how my clients shined:

Embraced singing her favorite artists songs unapologetically and with total vocal freedom and expression

Crushed singing Brandi Carlile's song "Broken Horses" after exploring new textures of her voice like twang to achieve the gritty sounds of her voice she always wanted to have

After working on releasing the tightness in her jaw and tongue, she was not only able to sing more freely but she began speaking more assertively on her behalf in rooms she would have found too intimidating previously.

Using principles of movement to embody her voice, she felt a deeper connection to her whole instrument when singing

Her fears of singing flat went away when she integrated her whole instrument and connected her voice to her body.

She prepped for and slayed at an audition with over 30 casting directors present, receiving numerous compliments on her performance.

Instead of gasping for air before singing a phrase, she integrated the idea of "imagine you have all the time in the world to breathe before you sing"

Playing with vowel shapes allowed her to create new colors and freedom in her voice

Stayed true to her artistry by leaning into her playful and bubbly self instead of conforming to what she felt was expected from her when performing

After a 25 year hiatus in singing and musical theatre since high school, she learned to prioritize herself and rediscovered her love for singing

How Will This Class Help Me Grow?

Contemporary singing is all about creating your most unique and authentic sound.

We will achieve this through:

Discovering Your Unique and Wonderful Voice

Through guided and self led vocal exploration you will begin uncovering your true, authentic voice. This is one of the most fun and powerful parts of the group class. You will surprise yourself in your ability to create a new landscape of sounds and vocal capabilities you didn't know was in you.

Learning to be your best vocal coach

My role as a voice teacher and coach is to empower you to trust your voice and your ability to know what it needs. You will gain knowledge about your voice and how it works best, as well as develop a toolbag of resources and exercises to gain agency of your own vocal technique and expression. You will learn to trust your voice and know what it needs in any given situation.

Vocal discovery and exploration:

You will experience what free, efficient and fun singing feels like in your body. You'll gain self awareness and an understanding of how you sing best through guided vocal play and discovery. Disclaimer: It will be silly and ridiculously fun!

This is one of the most fun and powerful parts of the group class. When children learn a new skill, their primary learning tool is play and discovery. Adults benefit greatly from this approach to learn how to sing.

Listening and reflecting

We will listen to your favorite artists sing songs and then discuss what is happening in their voice and how the singer creates those sounds and moods. We will explore those techniques in our own voices to experience those sounds and sensations in the body.

Healthy Vocal Technique

You will learn how to discern what healthy singing feels like in your body versus discomfort, tension or strain.

Whole Body Singing

As singers, we are our instruments. We will learn to connect to our whole instrument through applied movement and principles of the Alexander Technique to experience vocal freedom and expansion.

Singing in a safe environment

The group class model allows us to create a trusting, supportive and expansive class experience to sing in front of our peers without judgement. We will support each other, lift each other up and create a safe space to take risks and grow together.

You have a voice and you have something important to share. Maybe you have always wanted to learn how to sing but somewhere along the way you or someone you encountered told you you're not a singer and it was just a silly dream.

Maybe you used to sing but life got too busy and the needs and voices of others around you were too loud so you set your own voice aside to care for theirs.

Oh, and that belief that only some people can or should sing is utter bulls&!t and entirely untrue. Everyone can learn to sing, just like anyone can learn to paint, draw, or play the guitar.

And as you know, your voice is something you use every day of your life and is literally a part of you. Singing is really just an extension of the speaking voice.

Through vocal discovery and exploration, you will learn to gain agency over your own voice.

You will understand your voice deeply and feel a vocal and artistic freedom to express it confidently

You will gain clarity and confidence in connecting to your whole instrument

These vocal discoveries and freedom will be game changers but will only take us half way to our most empowered selves.

As helper types, we are brilliant at fostering and guiding the gifts of others but often leave a very vital piece of the puzzle out of the picture: YOU!!

And since you are your greatest asset, You will work through limiting beliefs, acceptance and ultimately expansion to fully connect to your most gorgeous and alive self, both on and off the stage.

In this small group class you will be with 2-3 other beautiful, helper type, creative souls on a similar journey. And together, we will explore our voices and find strength and connection in eachother. You will be held in support and taking healthy risks together to sing confidently and live expansively.

In this group of 3-4 singers we will cultivate a space to meet our own needs as creatives and give ourselves a space to grow as a singer as well as find camaraderie and support from fellow singers and caretakers who get it (how hard and unique of an experience caretaking is and something only other caretakers can really fully understand).

We will find our own unique voice as a singer as well as redefining what it means to have a voice both as a caretaker as well as our true self.
